Control: The Foundation reviews ( 5 )
The Foundation is an enjoyable follow-up to Control. There are new enemies and some unexpected twists in level design. The atmosphere is great with lots of mystery and tension. I definitely recommend if you enjoyed the base game.
First, and perhaps obviously, but you must have finished the main game to run this DLC. You will ONLY have finished the main game if you have gone through the credits TWICE. That's not a spoiler. The Foundation is not as mad as the main game; the story and objectives are pretty clear, if deliberately repetitive, and the level design is bigger and more open than the main game. Game mechanics and play are almost identical and its not difficult - there are always places to take cover and this DLC feels more fluid and faster to play. Due on Steam with main game in August 2020. I've never been bothered about non-Steam exclusives. If you want to play a game, just get it irrespective of platform.
Not bad DLC, but with problems. ?? The new location is good and beautiful, but they're very few original situations. Still an amazing design and visual aspect. ?? 2 new abilities are optional and not multifunctional tools, like other content. ?? However, in the DLC developers have created some fresh and addictive side-missions. I enjoyed it and had a great time during this expansion, but hope in the 2nd DLC we'll get some far more impressive.
I think this game is a little bit over rated. The story isn't super compelling, the game mechanics aren't special, and all-in-all it's not much to write home about. It's a good single-player experience to pick up if you're waiting for next year's batch to come out though. I enjoy the face-capture graphics and I enjoyed Warehouse 13, so the story was familiar. Go play Outer Wilds for a really unique experience first.
Interesting narrative, nice new enemies and cool new skills. now, I DO care about 'former'.
