Destiny 2: Forsaken reviews ( 4 )

Let me start by saying I'm a D1 Veteran and had over 3000+ hours in the game. I thought Destiny 2 was done with until I had seen the Forsaken Trailer I had hope. Anybody who thought Destiny was done with I highly recommend returning back. This DLC has everything Destiny 2 needed I'm more than happy to se one the of the title's I like so much go in the right direction. Forsaken has the perfect blend of story and secrets. I love the lore behind the dreaming city and the new additions to the games arsenal. I'm really looking forward to the future of the game. Good work Bungie. Also, I really just wanted Uldren dead :D.

Destiny is a great game, it has something for everyone. For the person who doesn't want to think, and just shoot mindlessly into hundreds of monsters, then they can do that. For the person who wants cooperate with a few friends, think, and solve puzzles, they can do that as well. If there is someone that loves to lose themselves in a rich ever expanding plethora of story and lore, they will have no problem finding something to do. For someone who likes to compete against other players, there is something for them too. Destiny is a game that you can spend hours or even days playing without running out of things to do. Beyond that, once you finally think that you’ve finished everything, bungie (the makers of the destiny franchise) releases a whole new world of options. Now while the game itself is wonderful, there are definitely a few drawbacks. For one, the cost of the game alone is enough to discourage many players, which may be one reason why sometimes it might take a long time for match making to finish. While destiny has some obvious issues and/or drawbacks, in my opinion, the pros heavily outway the cons. If you don't have the money to spend for an expensive triple A game, this game may not be for you. However, if you love playing through the campaign of a game whilst also losing yourself in a rich story, this game is perfect for you.

Do you enjoy PvP? Skill based matchmaking is gone and protection from groups for randos has also been nixed. Enjoy a refreshing gun meta? Pulse rifles/Hand cannons and shotguns in the special slot are all you will see. Like PvE action? There's a great deal of amazing content and lore to explore here. However... to progress your power level (light level) to fight more powerful enemies, you will eventually need to complete weekly rewards, daily rewards, and find random powerful drops. The weekly rewards involve going through eight (Gambit counts given the group stomping) matches with the aformentioned problems. People have begun to use "honor buddy" like tools to feign activity while AFK. I can't blame them for doing it given the matchmaking failure. Like intense Raid end game? The previous raid encounters do not scale, so you will always find the enemies to be rather laughably easy for what is considered a raid. Most bosses are now single-phased (also problematic is that while there used to be caps on damage for each class of weapon, newer exotics blow right past these and become "must takes" for max DPS). For the newer raid, it is obviously more difficult now and enjoyable. But to get to the power level to raid (550) you will need to grind weeklies and dailies from 500. Which means PvP, which means the aforementioned issues. Not giving it less than a 5 as the single player experience is truly quite good but hot dang, they really let the PvP aspect go to the dogs.

This DLC shot life back into the game, but ultimately D2 is still a mess. Once you get max level you realize there is absolutely nothing to do, and that the grind was really not worth it. They need to take an extra year to develop D3.
