Fall of Light reviews ( 7 )

This is a very rich and complex game, when I read it was developed by two people in less than one year I couldn’t believe it. The graphics looks cool and it was fun to play cause the combat system is quite amazing (to be honest, I died like a million times cause it’s quite challenging: you really got to learn your way around). I definitely enjoyed that there are many types of weapons and each one behaves differently. And it’s not all about fighting: you slow get to know the story of the characters and the world they’re in and it’s deep and very emotional. The end almost made me cry.. The influence of Dark Souls and Ico is evident but in the end Fall of Light is an entirely unique game. Definitely recommend it!!

Obviously SanctumRevel has never unlock an Echo to say that "story-nonexistend bland dk souls copy". Please, play the game before write reviews. The story is all but "non-existent", and is intentionally setup as a "Soulesque lore-based narrative" to smash this thing as soon as you unlock your first Echo. Sure, the game as little flaws, but the developers seems responsive and open to feedback on steam forum. As 2 Dev project I think this game is just amazing, vast, intriguing and well executed. Indie team should learn that passion and competence brings amazing results!

Dark Souls 1 meets Diablo 2. this is a pretty cool indie game. lots of dying until you learn the enemy patterns. i remapped my strong and weak attacks to r1 and r2, like Dark Souls, and the block to L1. the roll button is already the same as Dark Souls. runs fine on my pc. i'm a Dark Souls player and i'm liking it, which i can't say for the other 'souls-like' games out there. (i also liked Diablo 2, if you don't like the top down diablo view, this game is not for you) for the price, it's worth checking out.

PRO - The atmosphere is spot-on, and sometimes truly well done. - Combat is fluid, fast paced and enjoyable. - All weapons types feel and behave differently - you will find changing styles very often - It is very beautiful to have to care about Aether, and some scenes with her are AMAZING (without spoilers, the part after the Water Guardian is thrilling) - The developers are super-responsive - they patched the game a week after the release, listened to player feedback and they integrated what was within the spirit of the game without compromising it. - Exploration is rewarding, and I personally felt the areas well designed (in terms of map layout, secrets and diversity). CONS - The voice acting is bad. Like - very bad. - The game really lacks a soundtrack in many places. Sound effects are good and well placed, but I find that I would have loved music here and there. - Inventory and menus are practical and functional, but could use some graphical touches. PERSONAL VOTE: 8.5/10 - well worth your time and money. Definitely recommended.

This game is amazing. Really a gem among the indie games. But a huge but for now, it runs really bad. I got quite good of a computer, so should not be a problem, but huge frame-drops and sometimes 0.5-1 sec delay time. Makes an action game quite hard to play. The game was released yesterday, so there can come improvement in the future, if so this gem will get a sure 8-9 instead, but in its current state, it's almost unplayable.

sometimes more than often the attempt of mixing great known formula games into the mix , results in a catastrophe, while it shows promise at the first glance it just fails in all aspects that matter story-nonexistend bland dk souls copy, battle clunky not so responsive graphics ok the saying stick to your guns is a great example for this garbage of a game beware of what you mix in the pot

It's like a Souls game without any of the charm or skill in presentation. The world looks like an early ps2 game with extra bloom. I tried it after seeing how 1.17 fixed the combat and I shudder to think how bad it was before because it still isn't good. With games like Monster Hunter and Dark Souls/Bloodborne under my belt I'm not exactly a stranger to combat that takes something more than just running in and swinging a giant sword. Even in the opening areas of Dark Souls and Bloodborne the enemy placement is very deliberate and serves a purpose, with the top down view the early enemies are just there. Kill them with one strong attack, winner is you, such high engagement.
