Star Trek: Bridge Crew reviews ( 7 )

The most fun I had in VR's fun alone already but can be a bit challenging towards the end of the really shines when you're playing it with friends! This is what makes VR so creates completely new gaming experiences never imagined before. Must buy if you have a PSVR and if not another reason to buy one.

This is a game that's all about immersion. If you've ever wanted to command a star ship, this game will make you feel like you're there, actually doing it. Each station has just enough depth to feel like there's strategy in what you're doing. Also, this is one of the first VR multiplayer titles I've found with a great thriving community. Tons of people online, and I've yet to have to wait for players. Most fun I've had in VR to date, and a must purchase for any Trek fan, or hell, anyone with a VR headset. As others have said, it could use a DLC back for more mission types. The devs are asking for feedback on the ubi forums site though, so I'm hopeful that they'll keep providing support for this down the line.

IF you're a Star Trek fan and have always wanted to be on the bridge you owe it to yourself to play this game. It's the next best thing to actually being there! Even non fans will have a blast playing this game, the social experience.

I tried this both on the PSVR and on the PC via the Oculus, PC version had no issue getting any online games as there seem to be plenty of people out there playing it.....PSVR on the other hand was a choir, and in a hour of trying i had gotten into 2 games but with only 1 and 2 other PS4 players.....seems STBC is not that big on the PS4 judging by the fact nobody seems to be playing it online.... PC is where it is if you want to enjoy this game totally. PC Version...10/10...full speed ahead. PSVR, 5 out of ten.......because half the fun of this game is in online with other people and it seems nobody is playing on the PSVR.

This is the first game I have ever had where I didn't want to call Ubisoft (and uPlay) offensive names. It is a genuine fun game and is what VR was made for. This game is like a proof of concept of what can be done. Love it.

Yes it's a little light on content. Yes much of the content there is focuses heavily on combat. Yes they've played rather fast and loose with elements of the trek universe. Yes much of the control and simulation are a bit too simple, and yes it's priced rather excessively. Yet I find myself coming back time and time again, somehow despite the above the actual gameplay feels compelling, the experience of being on the bridge so convincing and the interaction with, what is easily the best community I've encountered in an online game, so entertaining and rewarding. Even when playing on your own there is something special about this game. Sure it's not the perfect spaceship game, nor is it the perfect Star Trek game. But when you add the sheer awesomeness of being transported onto the Bridge of a Starship thanks to the power of VR it becomes one of the most enjoyable games I've played in a very long time. We're at the start of the journey here, with luck the game will expand well beyond what's there today, but even if it doesn't this is an unmissable experience. A real indication of how amazing VR is.

If you have two to three friends that own PSVR and love Star Trek: You will have the time of your live with this game. If you're just looking for another PSVR game: You will be bored. If you love Star Trek but haven't been able to convince your friends to buy PSVR: You will get some enjoyment out of this, but it will get boring quickly. Bridge Crew is a really great example of what VR is capable of. It is, however, also a game that is only really fun if you play it with your friends. That's the reason why I can "only" give a decent score of 7. A mentioned, with Star Trek loving friends, it's a 10/10. Alone, depending on how much you love Star Trek, and based on the rather small amount of content and the really dumb "AI crew", it's somewhere around 5/10.
