Ever dreamt of flying a huge ship with hundreds of crew in deep space? Ever wanted to battle cocky pirates and show them who's the boss? Ever wanted to explore the unknown regions of space? You did? Ah, so you played Starfleet Command. Ok, now assume command in Starpoint Gemini 2, cause it's all that and better!

This is one of those game that you know: it will be a great game. After 20y of my gaming life, last year i decided to give the Indie games a chance and it has become a great year. Out of pure luck, one day i decided to take it on a Daily deal on Steam, and that was like hitting a winning lottery ticket. The feel of a massive universe where u can be what u want, from a economy based mega mogul Trader, to a ransacking Pirate in a search for a better loot. Starpoint Gemini 2 gives u the real feel of space adventure that was last seen in old classic games like Freespace. Buy your ship, upgrade its capabilities, choose from a variety of sizes: from small and fast gunner for fast kill, big slow freightleiner for hauling your precious cargo to a nearby station, or just maneuver a mega military carrier in a massive battles. Its up to you, to take your pick from more then 70 of ships that will blow your mind and make u wanna play more to get "that one there" you have seen in on of your many random generated missions. Open space universe is a delight to see and feel. No loading screens, big transport network hub ranging from ships T-Drive capabilities to riftways and wormholes, a cluster of asteroid fields and and beautiful crafted nebulas. It all gives you a immersiveness of a real breathing galaxy, in which your adventures will make a big impact on a world. All i can say its a great game, especially when i know its made by a really small dev team of real enthusiasts and space game fans. Enjoy it, because: The outcome of the universe is in your hands...

That's it. I loved Freelancer and this is what I've been waiting for. Now it's here. And it's here to stay since DLC will soon be out, expansion is in production and new mods are getting released weekly. Thank you, God.

Excellent game, what X:Rebirth should have been. There's always something to do, the graphics are cool and so does the gameplay. If i really had to criticize, i'd say the UI is a bit clunky, but really, nothing to worry about !

I'm not into space sims, but this one got me hooked! Really nice game, and glad it's released now. Also has really helpful community and developers are interacting with players alot. Recommended.

In the past I played Freelancer, Wing Commander series, X series, Homeworld and such. This game cought my eye after seeing amazing atmosphere and visuals. And after playing it for a while, I must say it feels most like Freelancer. In fact, despite having great sound and visual effects, it is the appealing feeling that kept me in game for a long time. It just feels like a space fairy tale with so much details to it. I'll make two examples: tiny sattelites are orbiting planets and they have no other purpose than to look cool and add that small touch to the sensation. The other is the name and description of tradeable items - you smuggle "adult magazines", "tarkleaves pot" and "hogwash whiskey", or take a taxi mission to take "super important person" to a different location. Game simply has a lot of spirit and doesn't feels generic. If the storyline soon to be added keeps this direction, it will be one awesome game!

Still buggy piece of crap, I don't understand all the 10 pt reviews. I've tried this game several times over the years and its just a massive bug fest. This latest try, the game crashed on the very first "action" of landing on the first planet. So I didn't even make it past the tutorial. The last time I tried to play this game (about a year ago)I made it a bit into the game, several levels up, and got a bugged quest. My options were to revert to an older save and lose days of progress or uninstall.
