The Room reviews ( 5 )

A masterpiece ! It seems like the PC version is so underrated. Not only one of the best puzzle games I've ever played, it also has solid story. Everything about this is so elite and stylish and geniusly creative. The design is both simple and minimalist but also very rich in content. Also, deep inside, it has a solid horror aspect in it, which leaves you with so many unanswered questions. Buy it if you like classical art and clockwork mechanisms.

Great puzzle game that takes about ~3hours to complete. Has a nice, slightly creepy atmosphere and great sound that will drag you in. The puzzles are fun to complete and the story is interesting as well.

Worth the 5 bucks. The game is a well executed puzzler with nice graphics and intuitive challenges. All in all I spent some 6 hours on it, raw maybe some 4. The puzzles aren't really mind-boggling so it doesn't really need any hints to get further - as said, quite intuitive. The only issue is with the last puzzle really where there is a bug, or maybe it's intentionally that a gem doesn't move unless you brute force every possible angle until you can glitch it over. After an hour of trying some smart solution I had to check the forums and figured it's actually a bug. So, all in all, I'm happy with the game.

Excellent First Entry To The Best Modern Point-and-Click Puzzle Game. The Room franchise is the best modern Point-and-Click example that to play. If you like Puzzle solving with a great dose of intrigue, mystery and the occult, you'll find The Room thoroughly engrossing. The graphics, sound and music all marry to give a fantastic atmosphere, while the vague narrative will seduce you deeper and deeper to uncover what mystery lies within. The puzzle's aren't as frustrating or fatiguing as many other P&C adventure games that I've played, and the First-Person perspective does give you an extra level of immersion. From what I can gather, this game is rather short, 5 chapters in total with an average 30 minutes to complete each chapter, totaling 2.5 hours to finish. As all other puzzle-games, there isn't any substantial replay value. However, unlike many other P&C titles, this doesn't really tax your time so it comes highly recommended for casuals. And, if you like this one, The Room Two is better, while The Room Three is by far and away, the best of the trilogy.

the graphics was interesting but puzzles were lousy. there was almost no need for using one's brain, you just had to find things around the place and the puzzles would be solved by themselves. the ending was the worst part! I think they thought they'd make a mysterious ending but they had just messed things up. it was pointless, I recommend it just in case you have lots of free time and you don't know what to do with it.
