theHunter: Call of the Wild reviews ( 7 )

One of the best (if not the best) games I ever played! It??s starts a little slow, but once you learn its dynamics it grows (hugely) on you! The hunting experience can be very challenging but super rewarding at the end. Shooting and eventually chasing the animal and tracking its blood trail are one of the coolest things in the game. The Graphics on "ultra setting" is the closest to a real life ambient I??ve ever seen, truly immersive experience! Night time, sunny, cloudy, rain, fog, dusk, dawn, thunders, lightning, wind gusts... you name it, the game recreated them perfectly. Sometimes I just grab the ATV and ride around to enjoy the landscape. I cannot stress enough how good this game is! 10!

The most beautiful recreation of the great outdoors to date. This is coming from someone who lives in northern Europe and has worked trails in the United States for half a year. The gameplay is solid and the setting/graphics and sounds make for an immersive experience. Sure the animals are buggy now and then, and once a bug prevented me from firering my weapon. Other than that The Hunter - Call of the Wild is a great hunting game. Worth the price.

One of the Most amazing hunting experience I had ever had. It teaches you to be patient and test your gaming skills after you played a game of COD. Absolutely amazing world with realistic reserve that mesmerize you

Many of the other reviewers are complaining about bugs. I haven't found that many bugs as of August 2017. If you asked me to estimate, I'd say I encounter at most a minor bug every two or three hours of gametime or so. One time I had a bug that wouldn't let me confirm a kill, but that's the only one that bothered me so I would't let the bugs worry you as it seems the developers have pushed some fixes. I'm running it on a 980ti though so maybe some of the glitches are on cheaper graphics cards. As for the game itself, I am ridiculously addicted to it, much more than I ever expected from this kind of game. There is something about running around the woods by yourself looking for animals to shoot, and actually shooting the animals and occasionally shooting a whole bunch of animals in a row that I find very addictive The controls are very similar to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in my opinion and it was very easy for me to start racking up kills. Lastly I want to mention there are two DLC packs you pretty much have to buy , ATVs and tents, that should have been included in the original game. I didn't buy the game at full price because of this and waited until there was a 30% off sale on Steam.

This is a hunting game, not a shooting gallery. Expect to be stalking or luring your prey for some time before you can get to make a shot. The graphics are AMAZING. Maxed out it's incredible. The sound is very realistic, and they're clearly samples from real animals that were recorded. There are two maps that are both very large: Europe and North America. Wildlife varies from animals like elk, moose, coyote, bears, deer, boar, etc. It could use a few more weapons. This game would be perfect if it had duck hunting. It's the best nature simulator out there.

I am very much enjoying my time with Call of the wild. It is a slower paced game. Much like hunting. This is aiming more towards being a sim than arcade game. You take your time stalking. You use your tools/calls, you be patient, you place your shots wisely. You can also level up certain abilities which can help a lot. Many different animals to hunt. They all have different AI that is supposed to make them act accordingly. There is even a little bit of a story to move you along at times, if you care for that. I just like the hunting and so far have ignored story side bits. Also, no crashes on 3 diff computers. My 4790k, 16GB Ram and GTX 1060, My Ryzen 3 1200, 8GB ram and 1050 and even my G3258, 4 GB ram (yeah, its under the min req and plays fine!) and another 1050. All played great without any bugs/crashes. The g3258, 4gb, 1050 runs it on low at 1080 well over 30-40fps. Wouldnt want to go much lower on specs, though. The RX 460 or a 750ti would probably be OK, but less/older than that, an older dual core, or less RAM and youre out of luck. Great game!

I have paid and played this game for over 9 years. Basically, once you get over the fact that you pay, (a lot of), money to play it, I was totally addicted for and would still love it. However, the loading and playing has so many bugs, I have personally experienced 4 total unfixable crashes with which the incompetent help desk just shrugged their shoulders. With a new computer/ windows version I got it going again, just to have it permanently crash again. Do not waste your time or money on this - and this is from an addict of the game.
