Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown reviews ( 6 )

HorusB, Mar 1, 2006

the graphics engine in RB6LD is outstanding. i've read a few bad reviews on the game, and dismiss a lot of it for the graphics alone. i wasn't sure if the screenshots were going to be very representative of the game when i saw them, but now that i've bought the game and played it everyday for the last week, i must say that the graphics truly are some of the best out right now.

Nonstop mayhem. I started playing several days ago and I'm so hooked that I've played myself out. With only sleep breaks between the carnage, I must finally force mysefl to step AWAY from the computer (after posting this review of course) and catch up with my "other" life. I just hope I catch up fast so that I can get back to playing Lockdown!

the single player is astounding. great plot. great graphics. great transition of levels and character building, the weapons are pretty innovative... i expected much less. this game is really cool.

well there is nothing much to say about singleplayer.there are 16 missions and all of them is about shooting terrorists.there is nothing which involves teamwork but multiplayer was good enough to give this game a seven.if you are a fan of rainbow six series and looking for some traditional gameplay then you will be hugely dissapointed.

Player could lean left/right, crouch but no prone. The graphic is almost like the other game Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, but not better than. The weapon selection menu is very similar to the G.R.A.W. You could mount a scope to some assault rifles so to snipe some enemies dead. It's rather hard if it's the first time you go through a location, but if you could remember where all the "jack in the box" are, then it's very easy to get past this game on the second replay. (1/4 alike elements) SWAT 4 was released in April, 2005. (1/7 alike elements) F.E.A.R. was released in October, 2005. (2/5 alike elements) Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter was released in May, 2006. (1/5 alike elements) Rainbow Six Vegas was released in December, 2006. (10/10 alike elements) Gamespot was released in 2006.

I just finished this game. And I want that time of my life back. Not only is this game a disgrace to the Rainbow Six franchise, it is a disgrace to modern First person shooters. Take a look at Half-life 2 and Far Cry and you'll understand what AI is SUPPOSED to be doing. Take a look at Ravenshield, Athena Sword or Swat 4, and you see what a squad based shooter is SUPPOSED to be like. Sure the game is pretty. The sound is aweful. There should NEVER be a time when I have to edit a file to make my sound work properly. Thats just bad QA. The only reason I didn't give Lockdown a 1 is because I remotely enjoyed the multiplayer. That is when I could actually connect to a game.
