Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem reviews ( 7 )
I don't understand why launch server downtime should affect the permanent rating given to a game. The servers are up now and the game is simply excellent. Wolcen has raised the bar for all hack and slash ARPGs. It has better story, gameplay, graphics and sound quality than Diablo 3, Path of Exile 1 and Grim Dawn. I am having this much fun after a long time.
Game is receiving bad reviews because of issues with servers on the launch day (due to the massive users concurrence). This happened even to Diablo 3 and not represent the quality of the game. I could appreciate Act 1 in the early access and the game looks really promising. I set a 10 to bring a little bit of balance here...
The game is good and has potential. But story is made with hurry, and the game has a lot of bugs (mostly passives not working) and is not really balanced. Maybe in some months goes better
It's just a huge bug-fiesta with a tonne of exploits on top. The game in the current state looks cool and sounds really nice for that it gets a few points, but the rest is just horribly BAD. Talents stack in ways that enable you to one hit bosses, you can dupe items, you can dupe gold, you can brick your game by using the forge or the black market, features promised back in the Kickstarter phase got completely deleted... Maybe the devs will fix it but at the moment this game is a pure disappointment, especially if you bought it on Kickstarter...
Used to own it at GOG - back when they sold their game on GOG. Then - 'hello GOG players! we're scrapping GOG version! Enjoy playing eternal alpha version!' Of course, it isn't LITERALLY the text of that announcement but: 1. The announcement's theme was essentially this. No recommendations on how to refund, no advice on how to keep playing the helluva mess the game was back these days. No nothing except 'GOG version won't be updated anymore. Thank you for understanding.' Let it sink in for awhile. They canned the whole segment of their playerbase and got away with it like it was absolutely okay. 2. The announcement was NOT posted at GOG. Let it sink in for a while. They started selling undeveloped game at GOG - and, after deciding to halt the development, they refused to inform their players. 3. As per what I got from my correspondence with GOG Customer Service, GOG staff was not aware of this... decision either. Let it sink in for a while. The developer didn't informed the publisher that the game won't be developed for publisher's platform. Not mentioning that, as per reviews from my Steam-based brethern, even after actual Release the game is, essentially, incomplete and bugged. Absolutely horrid game from bunch of scammers. The only place where this game and these developers may get a positive score is a 'Scam Of The Century' award show.
Devs spend last money on streamers to build hype and released this bugged mess. Lack of itemisation - unique/legendary items hardly different from any other items, tons of bugs - half of passive tree just doesnt work, some stats doesnt work, bugs that was reported in alpha still here. Devs are good in only one thing - cash grabbing
I have not enjoy arpg for a while, apart from the lunch crash that i was expecting, this game has already lot of feature that took year to implement in other game, the graphic are nice, i wish there were more cgi cutscene but the story telling is still really good, i hope the will had more content to keep playin relevent!
